Information You Submit
Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered into the search boxes are sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Pittsburg Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search entries on its own servers. If you send a message, the operator sees the information included in that message and uses it to answer.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting systems may record normal server details such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time stamps. Those details can be reviewed in aggregate to maintain the reference and understand broad page use. Basic cookies, analytics tools, or advertising measurement may also process technical information where they are enabled.
How the Information Is Used
Technical and message data support operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and page improvement. Pittsburg Residents Directory does not sell visitor lists or create individual profiles from the limited information described here.
Links to External Resources
Pages link to Contra Costa and California record portals, libraries, archives, and sponsored search tools. The privacy terms of the destination, rather than this policy, govern information entered there. Review those terms before submitting anything to an outside provider.
Who May Process Data
Hosting and technical service providers may process server logs while supporting the reference. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. Information is disclosed when valid legal process requires it, and otherwise is not shared beyond the purposes stated here.
Security and Retention
The reference uses an encrypted connection, and technical logs are retained only for as long as the operational purposes require. There are no visitor accounts, passwords, or personal profiles stored here. No security measure can promise absolute protection, but access is limited to the systems and providers needed to run the service.
Visitors Under 18
Pittsburg Residents Directory is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The operator does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor is believed to have sent personal information, use the Contact page so the operator can review and delete what is held.
California Privacy Choices
California's Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, appears in Civil Code section 1798.100 and following. Depending on the circumstances, California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain sensitive-data uses, and receive equal treatment. Pittsburg Residents Directory keeps very little personal data, so a request usually involves checking the contact mailbox and relevant technical logs.
Use the Contact page to ask about information held by this reference. Government records remain with the agency that created or maintains them. A request to remove a Contra Costa assessment, deed, court, voter, or city record must go to that custodian. California Public Records Act requests are governed by Government Code section 7920.000 and following, not by this private reference.
Updates to This Policy
Changes will be posted in this policy with a new effective version. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
